THE VEDANYA SCHOOL
FLOWER VALLEY CAMPUS

Curriculum Objectives

Our dream at Flower Valley School is to provide each and every child an environment that brings out the very best in each of them. Academic achievement is our goal coupled with the holistic development of skills for each child.

We have mandated the new 5+3+3+4 model provided by the New Education Policy of 2020 with the added emphasis on experiential learning from the early years itself. To enable our children to be curious, creative and critical learners, life skills and values form the base of our pedagogy..

Learning at Vedanya will be enjoyable and engaging with modern teaching methods, technology- based learning and curricular integration with Language, Math, Social Sciences and Sciences taught through not only prescribed books but relevant life-experiences. Our co-curriculars like art, craft, dance , music , games and sports are also an integral part of our learning design. Our focus is and will always be on a healthy teaching-learning experience. Our children will grow up to be not only accomplished academically but with values and beliefs that make them good human beings.

OUR

2-3 year olds

At Vedanya, we prepare our little ones to connect with nature, respect it and protect it. Our curriculum brings nature into our classroom as the rays of the sun comes streaming in or the pitter-patter of rain creates melodies for our learners within. We also run out into the greens feeling the grass beneath our feet, the wind in our hair and learn to listen, notice, explore and wonder what a beautiful world this is.

3 to 4 year olds

We, at Vedanya, use the outdoors to look within. We feel and recognise the texture of leaves, count the petals of the sunflower, pick up pebbles and stack them up in ones and tens, draw numbers and letters on sand and write about our favourite pet animal. At this age we learn to work with our friends in small teams and learn to share and care for people around and nature that is so bountiful.

4 to 5 year olds

Our tryst with nature continues as we learn to communicate our thoughts and understandings about ourselves and the world around. We learn the power of words, rhymes, tales, story- telling and we develop our language skills. Along with the 3Rs of reading, (w)riting and (a)rithmetic we also learn to process our thoughts into meaningful ideas and reason out the knowledge around us. From narration to writing to painting and carving we translate our imagination into literary and creative realities.

5-6 year olds

Nature becomes our friend and guide at Vedanya. We find ways to weave our love for the outdoors in our languages, numeracy, science, history, geography, design technology, art and craft. The inquiry process becomes the hallmark of our education journey. Learners realise how they best learn all that is of significance, for the past, their present and their future. Evaluative learning outcomes are designed and self-regulation becomes a new norm. The journey of our respect for nature continues with sustainability evolving as a lifelong goal.

The Journey Of Lifelong Learning Starts Here

INFRASTRUCTURE
Currently, our school is equipped with essentials, namely, the Head of School office, Classrooms, Library, Child- friendly washrooms, a Staffroom, a large Playground, Recreational area, and a Splash pool. Additionally, there is an Admissions office and an Admin area. However, in pursuit of providing a holistic learning experience, the school has envisioned a move to a bigger space in the course of the 2024 academic year. The new building will flaunt a nature-inspired design and will cater to children up to Class 12th. It will have state-of-the-art facilities and seamless interaction spaces with the beauty around, creating a unique and engaging learning experience. It will include the Takeshi Forest and hydroponic spaces. Takeshi Forest will provide a stimulating environment for children to explore, observe, and learn about various plants, insects, and animals. The hydroponic spaces will be used to create an interest among students about sustainable farming and the principles of agriculture. This will enable them to gain practical knowledge and skills, allowing them to develop a deeper understanding of nature and its significance in keeping our environment healthy and safe for everyone.
